In 1924 a small group of Adelaide Golf Club (now Royal Adelaide) members discussed the possibility of establishing a "summer season" course in the Adelaide Hills, to supplement their winter season at Seaton. By October 1925 work was well under way on what is now arguably the most picturesque Piccadilly Valley, only 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD via Heyson Tunnels.
The Club offers a range of membership options including immediate seven day membership and a special new category of casual membership, and warmly welcomes visitors, trade groups and social golfers. The challenging course and beautiful setting, make Mount Lofty the ideal venue for fully catered corporate or social groups, being the only metropolitan course with on course accommodation.
